What is the different between UTP and FTP and STP?
UTP (unshielded twisted pair) Cat5e is sufficient for 100/1000 Mbps ethernet.
FTP and STP have added shielding to provide some protection against electro-magnetic interference.
STP (shielded twisted pair) offers the highest level of protection folowed by,
FTP (foil twisted pair)
If the shielding is not properly grounded, it does no good.
